Small changes that help

Breakfasts to treat as occasional

Parathas cooked with a lot of ghee or oil, puri-bhaji, vada pav, samosa, bread pakoda, cream-filled bakery items and sweetened cereals can run well past 400 to 600 kcal and give little protein for it. They are fine now and then, not as an everyday habit. For a label-reading check on packaged breakfast items, see how to read an Indian food label.
